Nov. 3--Most securities companies reported lower net profits for the third quarter of this year due mainly to shrinking market turnover as a result of rising oil prices and interest rates.
Market leader Kim Eng Securities posted a net profit of 164.58 million baht in the third quarter, down from 198.27 million baht in the third quarter of 2004. Profits for the nine-month period were 590.12 million baht, down from 840.18 million baht in same period last year.
