Hologic soars as net beats views
The maker of diagnostic and digital imaging systems netted 41 cents a share in its Q4, 71% over a year ago. Sales rose 22% to $78.2 mil. Much of the gain came from sales of its Selenia digital mammography systems. Hologic's core business units are focused on osteoporosis assessment, mammography and breast biopsy. Shares leapt 4.62 to 61.83.
** IRIS International met Q3 views of 9 cents, triple the year-ago profit. Revenue rose 36% to $16 mil. Shares fell 2.5% to 22.91.
** Omnicare's Q3 profit rose 23% to 62 cents ex items, as acquisitions including NeighborCare, excelleRx and RxCrossroads pushed revenue up 38% to $1.45 bil. The medicine supplier missed views by 2 cents. Shares rose 1% to 54.75.
