GUESS jumped 7% after it reported Q3 earnings of 46 cents, 70% more than a year ago and 9 cents over views. Sales rose 34% to a record $266 mil. Same-store sales rose 9%.

PRUDENTIAL FINANCIAL rose 4% after it reported Q3 earnings rose 57% to $1.46 a share ex items, beating views by 30 cents. The insurer affirmed its '05 EPS target of $4.85-4.95.
