Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) has set up a product manufacturing deal based on the low-sulphur output expected from the $600 million revamp of its Sitra refinery. Bapco and Finnish Neste Oil have signed an agreement by which both companies will work on a $175 million project to design, build, and operate a lubricant manufacturing plant in Bahrain.
The plant would be built within the Sitra refinery, producing 400,000 t/y of sulphur-free, very high viscosity lubricant base oils.
