Nov. 1--HAT YAI -- A persistent labour shortage in the frozen seafood industry in the South is preventing processors from raising output to meet increasing purchase orders from abroad, industry executives say.
"The acute shortage of labour in the area is still not being addressed by the authorities, despite the fact that we have raised the issue many times," said Thawee Piyapatana, chairman of the regional Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) committee.
