Oct. 28--Dave Murphy picked up his cell phone Thursday and saw this message from daughter Cara:
"The school is on lockdown and people are getting Tasered. Come pick me up."
Murphy jumped in his car and headed for North Meck High. There, he met hundreds of other parents, many of whom had also gotten frantic calls or messages.
It's against the rules for students to bring phones to a Charlotte-Mecklenburg school.
The district has been evaluating its policy, but spokeswoman LaTarzja Henry said what happened Thursday is one reason the rule is in place. Parents jammed roads and blocked the school's front door…
