A new variation on the charity wristband glows in the dark and is designed to increase mental health awareness in young people. A program of the National Mental Health Association (NMHA) called mpower: musicians for mental health, in partnership with the 1-800-SUICIDE crisis line sponsored by the Kristin Brooks Hope Center, have created the glowbands in an attempt to encourage more young people to seek help for mental health problems. The wristbands read "Check Your Head," borrowing from the title of a 1992 Beastie Boys album.
