Oct. 22--STOCKTON -- A man who has already pleaded no contest for his role in the killing of Jenna Nannetti testified Friday that Michael Simons shot his 17-year-old estranged wife several times as part of a plan to get rid of her, collect on her life insurance policy and buy a house with that money.
Jeffrey Hamilton, 23, made the statements during the third day of testimony Friday in Simons' murder trial, in San Joaquin County Superior Court. Hamilton, who described himself as a reluctant participant, is expected to receive a 15 years to life sentence in exchange for his testimony against Simons.
