Oct. 21--WASHINGTON -- An experimental diabetes drug poses "an unacceptable patient hazard" because it doubles the risk that people taking it will die or have heart attacks and strokes, according to a paper the Journal of the American Medical Association rushed into publication yesterday.
The conclusion comes from Cleveland Clinic Foundation cardiologists, the same doctors that teamed up to raise an early warning flag for Vioxx.
