Oct. 19--A Chicago FBI agent who has repeatedly and publicly criticized the bureau's ability to investigate terrorism will be reinstated following the bureau's controversial attempts earlier this year to fire him.
The Department of Justice last week overruled the FBI and ordered Agent Robert G. Wright Jr. reinstated. But he will not return to the job without some punishment.
Wright, an agent since 1990, Tuesday declined to discuss the circumstances of his return.
"I look forward to going back to my squad," Wright said. "I look forward to doing my job. That's all I'm going to say."
