NEW YORK-Flat-panel television has been the lifeblood of big-box electronics retail of late, and Circuit City and Best Buy have taken varying approaches in terms of assortment, service offerings and sales strategy, as was discovered during a recent HFN visit to neighboring locations in New York's Upper East Side.
At Your Service
Despite Best Buy's highly publicized service-oriented effort highlighted by its Geek Squad program, service and installation seemed to take more of a front seat at its competitor here.
The larger-screen TV area of Circuit City's flat-panel section features a variety of mid- to higher-end sets mounted on a fake brick wall.
