THEY WERE ONLY A FEW HUNDRED MEN, were not terrorists and could not have driven President Macapagal-Arroyo out of the Palace.

At worst, the police could have allowed them to cross over Mendiola (Don Chino Roces) Bridgewhich had symbolic power to the protestersand then kept them within San Beda College where they would pose no danger to Malacanang.

Commissioner Wilhelm Soriano of the Commission on Human Rights made these observations in an interview with the Inquirer yesterday to drive home his point that Fridays forcible dispersal of a Church-led protest march near Malacanang could have been avoided.
