Oct. 17--A resort-casino project originally intended for Sedgwick County will get a hard look from several other counties this week.
Former Wichita Mayor Bob Knight, who is representing a $300 million project that was meant for Park City, will present the plan in Marion and Sumner counties on Monday, and again in Harvey County on Wednesday.
Knight said those counties have shown interest in the project -- in contrast to Sedgwick County, which has deferred a nonbinding casino referendum indefinitely at the request of Republican lawmakers from south-central Kansas.
Harvey County commissioners already have voted to hold a referendum to see whether residents want a casino.
Knight, who spoke to business leaders and elected officials in Newton on Friday, said he'll make a presentation to Harvey County's economic development council Wednesday.…
