The gender gap in higher education will increase in the next decade, according to a report by the U.S. Department of Education's National Center for Educational Statistics.
"Projections of Education Statistics to 2014" predicts that from 2002 to 2014, enrollment in higher ed by women will increase by 21%, while that for men will increase by only 12%. Women would increase from 57% to 58% of students in 2014 and outpace men in earning every type of degree.
