Oct. 16--Businesswoman Rowena Fullinwider never knew she would be so successful.

"I don't know that I set my sights very high in business. I'm a chemist and a biologist, and the business world was a whole new world."

Fullinwider is founder and president of Rowena's Inc. in Norfolk. Her cakes, desserts, jams and sauces are sold in more than 1,500 gourmet and gift shops in the U.S. and abroad.

She will speak Wednesday at the Enterprising Women of Excellence dinner at The Jefferson Hotel in Richmond. The event is sponsored by the Richmond chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners Foundation and Verizon. …
