China is poised to further strengthen its status both as supplier of rare earths and producer of value added downstream product due to its large rare earth resource. China hosts the biggest rare earth resources in the world, with local industry figures indicating that the country accounts for 52 M or 52% of about 100 M tonnes of the world's rear earths oxides (REO) resources. External information resources place the country's proven reserves at 43 M tonnes REO, a figure that still puts China ahead of its rivals. China also …
