More on British design
I couldn't believe your readers' negative comments on the new Jaguar XK (Letters, Sept 26). For one of them to buy an '06 XK after only seeing pictures of the '07 is ridiculous. I'm just back from Frankfurt after seeing the '07 XK. All I can say is that the design is stunning. Upon my return, I immediately put a deposit down for the '07 XK convertible. I've owned more cars than I care to remember, but I can't wait to get my hands on this beauty.

You say there has been criticism of the XK front end, but who cares? Ignoring the response to this design when it was first shown displays a death wish by Jaguar.

Shortly after reading Steve Thompson's Sept. 19 column, which mentioned Michael Lamm's six timeless automobile designs, I turned to pages 26 through 29 and stared in awe at the 2006 Aston Martin V8 Vantage design (especially the top-rear quarter view). We have a seventh to add to the list.
