Agia Napa, Cyprus, 11 October: News Agencies in the Commonwealth (former British colonies) have decided to set up an alliance.

The decision was taken during an inaugural meeting here today attended by chief executive and editor-in-chief of the Press Association (PA) of Britain, Paul Potts, chief executive of the Australian Associated Press (AAP), Clive Marshall, senior editor of the Press Trust of India (PTI), V.S. Chandrasekar and acting director and chief editor of the Cyprus News Agency (CNA), George Penintaex.
