Taipei, Oct. 11, 2005 (CENS)--Taiwan's trade surplus posted a rise of US$170 million from a month earlier to reach US$600 million in September of this year, according to the statistics compiled by the Ministry of Finance (MOF)

MOF's statistics showed that in September Taiwan's exports reached US$16.2 billion, up 8.5% from the same month of last year and the second highest of its kind ever recorded. In the same month, imports rose by 9% to US$15.49 billion

MOF attributed the export rise to the expanding demand in such markets as Mainland, Hong Kong, the original six members of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) …
