In this issue, our division tour takes us to Tennessee, where the 2005 Tennessee MTA state conference was held at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City. Philip Kawin was featured as the conference artist. Other session topics included student chamber groups, contemporary music, keyboard ensembles, and the syntheses of ear training, technique, theory and repertoire. Members of the Appalachian MTA provided "Tips for Selecting a Piano Teacher," for A! Magazine for the Arts. Dickson Renaissance MTA recently hosted a student composition workshop and Chattanooga MTA spotlighted Joanne Smith, NCTM, in a workshop. TMTA is delighted that Sigrid Luther, NCTM, was named a 2005 MTNA FOUNDATION Fellow.
