Arkansas State MTA will hold its MTNA Performance Competitions November 4-5, 2005, at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. Christine Franklin is the new state MTNA Performance Competitions chair, replacing retiring chair Trudy Kincade, NCTM. Ouida Keck, NCTM, replaces retiring chair David Crouse, as Teacher of the Year chair and Mark Smidt is the new ASMTA newsletter editor.
Louisiana MTA will hold its state conference October 27-28, 2005, at Loyola University in New Orleans, followed by the Louisiana MTNA Performance Competitions. Conference artists include Carolyn True, NCTM, Dallas Weekly, Nancy Arganbright and Martha Mier, NCTM. New Orleans MTA is celebrating 100 years as a piano/music teachers' organization.
