Some of the dreariest shades are now key colours in fashion. Brace yourself for loads of greys, tans, whites this season.

Think something's gone wrong with the wash? Unfortunately, that's just the way your clothes are meant to look this season. Nothing's going to be bright for a while, as putty, grey, pale beige and caramel are colours that designers worldwide are now celebrating.

In the past, some fashion writers called grey the 'hardest colour to get right'. But, 'when correctly handled, it can also be one of the chicest', they added.
