Boots The Chemist, in conjunction with the Department of Health, is to provide free over-the-counter testing kits for sexually transmitted disease (STD) chlamydia.
The pilot scheme, which begins next month, will run for two years in 204 Boots stores in the Greater London area, offering the free tests to the target group of 16 to 24-year-olds. The retailer expects to handle about 50,000 screenings each year.
