Retired President Daniel Moi has defended his choice of Mr Uhuru Kenyatta to lead Kanu and run for presidency.

In picking on Mr Kenyatta as the party head, Mr Moi said, he had considered virtues of merit, honesty, justice and fair play "that the youthful politician possesses".

He was speaking in Belgut constituency on Sunday where he officially opened a dining hall at Musaria Secondary School after attending an open-air Sunday service.
