With investor Axcel now holding the reins, Esko-Graphics is determined to reach its potential, says Des King.

Step forward whoever it was in Esko-Graphics' marketing department responsible for the year's most ambivalent strap-line. At face value, Expect More is as good as any other snappy commitment to groundbreaking innovation and above-par service. It could equally serve as shorthand for the pre-press supplier's future prospects under the new ownership of Danish private equity investment company Axcel.

Esko will be focused on the packaging print sector. Meanwhile, its under-performing commercial offset print operation has been retained by the outgoing Kirkbi group, which is searching for a trade buyer for it.
