Carisbrooke Shipping of the Isle of Wight has ordered two hulls and potentially up to six multi-purpose vessels from Port Weller Dry Docks, a Canadian shipyard in the Great Lakes region.

The order coincided with a strategic alliance announced last week between Canadian Shipbuilding and Engineering of St Catharines, Ontario, which is the parent company of PWDD, and Netherlands-based Peters Kampen Shipyards, which specialises in building feeder vessels.
