SEVEN years after its Australian launch, Subaru's Forester compact all-wheel-drive SUV has passed the 70,000 sales milestone.

The first Foresters made it onto our roads in August 1997 and since then the car has become one of the stars of the Subaru range, gaining success both in the showroom and in automotive awards.

One of the Forester's major attractions - and this is true of all Subarus - is its resale value.

In the current Glass's Guide's used values for compact SUVs, the Forester XS luxury pack rates best in its class for three-year-old vehicles.
