Oct. 5--Japan has recommended a 10-point plan to improve the industrial competitiveness of Asean nations in preparation for the Asean-Japan Comprehensive Economic Partnership agreement.
The agreement is expected to be concluded by April 2007, according to Atsuo Kuroda, the president of the Japan External Trade Organisation (Jetro) in Bangkok.
Mr Kuroda said the recommendations were based public hearings held to determine the needs of Japanese companies operating in the 10 member states of the Association of South East Asian Nations.
