The Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) last week summoned, the Town Clerk of Kampala City Council, Mr James Seggane, to answer charges of grabbing government land.

KCC allegedly grabbed the land on Old Port Bell Road and sold it to city tycoon Mr Hassan Basajjabalaba to expand his abattoir.

Seggane was summoned together with the City Planner, Mr Charles Kyamanywa, and the Chairman of the District Land Board, Eng. Yunus Mpagi.

Police said KCC sold the land, which belongs to the Ministry of Works, Transport and Communication, last year.
