OK, this whole light-jazz vocal disc is clean as can be, with a nice soundstage and just enough surround reverb to simulate a good club-like atmosphere. As is the case with virtually every SACD I have encountered so far, there is no genuine, discrete-channel center feed to speak of. In some SACD cases (and DVD-A cases, too) there have been token center feeds, but that is not the case here, with the soundstage between the speakers dominated by a broad but still well-defined, two-channel phantom image. Yes, this is, as usual, a Chesky 4.1 recording and not a 5.1 job.
