THE MAN who vigorously peddled the idea of reproductive health to Filipinos is himself not sold to the idea of artificial family planning.
Outgoing Health Secretary Manuel Dayrit said Thursday night that he preferred natural family planning, the method endorsed by Catholic Church leaders with whom he was often at loggerheads.
"I would advise my children to go for natural family planning," he told a select group of reporters over dinner in Manila. "I'm not comfortable with people taking chemicals for a long time."
