(From Irish Independent)
It was a brutal murder that shocked the nation. When young mother-of-two Rachel O'Reilly was bludgeoned to death in her north Dublin home, it led to an intensive murder investigation, every detail of which has been devoured by the public.
Next Tuesday will mark the first anniversary of 30-year-old Rachel's death but still her killer remains at large despite the Garda's oft-expressed confidence that a suspect would be brought to justice.
The tall, attractive, athletic and outgoing sports fan had lived in the quiet rural house of her dreams at Baldarragh in the Naul for just 18 months with her husband Joe and two boys, Adam (3) and Luke (5).
But in a few brutal minutes, the home was transformed into a house of horror as heavy blows were rained down on Rachel's head with a blunt instrument - possibly one of her training dumb bells.
The injuries were massive. The force used to kill her was shocking, leaving the walls stained with her blood. Rachel died still clutching her car keys.
Almost since day one of the investigation into Rachel's death, the case has been shrouded with theories, whispers, rumours, motives and cover-ups, and even exhumation.
