FANS OF FIL-AUSSIE ROCK Star finalist MiG Ayesa were disappointed last Sept. 21 when he was the first of the three surviving contestants in the grand finals to be eliminated from the competition. MiG was doing so well in the early rounds of the tilt, racking up the most votes from viewers. What happened?
Grand finals
Well, during the grand finals, votes were no longer the issue, the INXS bands choice of the right frontman was. And, throughout the months-long competition, the bandmates kept expressing their reservations about MiGs suitability to them in this regard.
INXS is a rock band, so they were looking for a frontman who was a rocker. MiG was a gifted singer and all-around performer, but he wasnt really all that experienced as a rock performeralthough he pointed out that he had sung in a number of rock bands in the past.
But, he was mainly a performer in stage musicals in Australia and England. This bothered the INXS bandmates, whose concept of musical theater may on the chi-chi and effete side.
