THE PHILIPPINE DAILY INQUIRer bagged four of seven business journalism awards during the Economic Journalists Association of the Philippines (EJAPs) 14th annual tilt held Thursday night at the Hotel Intercontinental Manila.
Business reporter Doris C. Dumlao was named best reporter for her coverage of the banking and finance beat for 2004. This is the fifth for Dumlao, who covers the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.
Clarissa S. Batino was also named reporter of the year for the telecommunications sector, her seventh award from EJAP. Batino was named best journalist for her coverage of the trade and industry beat in 1996 and for her stint in the energy sector in 1998 and 1999. She won best reporter for banking in 2000 and 2003. In 2000, her article on the Mindanao Crisis Taking Toll on the Economy was cited as the best feature story.
