FORT DEL PILAR, BAGUIO CITYOFFIcials of the Philippine Military Academy said yesterday they had fully accounted for all their 1,060 cadets, squelching reports of a cadets walkout.
The PMA issued the disclaimer following text messages about a supposed protest by cadets sympathetic to Brig. Gen. Francisco Gudani, who was relieved as PMA assistant superintendent for defying a presidential order and testifying at the Senate about alleged election fraud.
Brig. Gen. Leopoldo Maligalig, commandant of cadets, said no cadet had been reported absent without official leave (Awol) since Gudani testified.
He also said Gudanis flag had not been lowered from its pole at his office here.
Military tradition requires a generals personal flag to be hoisted down every time he is absent from his quarters or office.
