FREE COLLEGE EDUCATION IS AT STAKE when the first Manila Youth Games (MYG) national invitational kicks off Oct. 23.
Arnold Ali Atienza, chair of the organizing Manila Sports Council (Masco), said the scholarships will go to the citys outstanding performers.
One of our long-term plans is to provide Manilas deserving athletes with proper college education through scholarship while giving them the time and tools to train and further improve their skills, said Atienza.
Atienza bared that a Bachelor in Physical Education and Sports course will be offered to top athletes by the citys public high schools at the City College of Manila (CCM).
The inclusion of sports in the curriculum of the city government-ran college will give immediate priority to Manilas deserving athletes, added Atienza, who thanked CCM president Dr. Rodrigo Malunhao and his Board for their support.
