Oct. 1--The Internal Trade Department has threatened to take legal action against owners and operators of fresh markets and supermarkets if they allow vendors to charge inflated prices for vegetables during the vegetarian festival.
The warning was made after the department found that vegetable prices had risen 25-50 percent in the runup to this year's festival which takes place on Oct 3-11.
