Sep. 30--TAVARES -- Patrick "P.J." Boykin Jr., convicted of killing his sister when he was 11, avoided a possible prison sentence Thursday in recurring legal problems with his probation.
When the Montverde teenager pleaded guilty to violating probation last year, a judge threatened to put him "under the prison" if it happened again.
That same judge found him not guilty of his second probation violation charge on Thursday.
Boykin, now 18, was arrested in July when a probation officer said he had broken the rules. But in court Boykin's lawyer and Lake County Judge Richard Boylston saw the evidence differently.
Since his warning last year, Boykin has attended his counseling sessions, earned his high-school diploma and started making plans to attend college, his lawyer and parents said.
