Sep. 30--New sidewalks, more signs and better pedestrian crossings will be built in five Monmouth and Ocean County towns scheduled to receive state Department of Transportation grants, which were announced Thursday.
Grants were awarded to Asbury Park, Little Silver, Dover Township, Keansburg and Point Pleasant through the DOT's Safe Streets to School program, which handed out a total of $5.2 million statewide for 60 projects.
