SEOUL, May 16 Asia Pulse - Riding high on the success of its small car Santro, Korean car major Hyundai has planned to develop India as a production and export base for its recently-launched premium compact car `Getz'.

"We are well poised to take the Getz to the export market," B V R Subbu, President, Hyundai Motors India Ltd, said while the outlining company's future strategy to develop India as a global production base for the small and mid-size cars.

Hyundai has been exporting mostly its 'Santro' and mid-size 'Accent' cars till now.
