Statesman News Service KOLKATA, Sept. 29. - As is usual when the Left is left in charge of announcing the date of mass protests, today's strike was the first of a five-day vacation for those who like to take it easy and skip work whenever the opportunity of a long weekend presents itself. Here's the sequence: strike, bank holiday, weekend and Mahalaya. And in the bargain, the 'loss' of one holiday (Gandhi Jayanti on Sunday) was made up as well!
