EAST MANATEE -- Patience has proven to be more than a virtue for Jacqueline McGrew.

The Lakewood Ranch High senior never lost her confidence while playing in the shadow of four older teammates during her first three years on the Lady Mustangs girls golf team.

It wasn't easy. When your father is the head coach, there is a burning desire to excel and make dad proud.

"It was hard sometimes because you don't want to disappoint your father," Jacqueline said. "It's always in the back of your mind that you want to do well because your father is the coach."
