Nearly 830,000 students from the 12th form, the last grade of Vietnam's senior secondary education, started their three-day final exams today, according to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET).

The number of this year's examinees rose by 79,000 over last year's. Of the figure, 58,000 are ethnic minority people

The central province of Thanh Hoa topped the list of the total number of candidates with 44,000. Followed by Ho Chi Minh City with 43,500 and the central province of Nghe An with 41,500 students.
