Bruneians are expected to throng the border town of Miri in big numbers this May 20 to witness over 20 programmes and activities that have been lined up to celebrate the oil town's elevation to a resort city.
The highlight of the celebration will be the proclamation of the former fishing village in the early 1900s as a city at the Miri City Fan this May 19.
The proclamation is expected to be announced by the Sarawak Head of State, Tun Datuk Patinggi Abang Muhammad Salahuddin in a glittering ceremony that will commence at 5.30 pm.
