DOH confirms second case of enterovirus in Taipei City.

The Taipei City Department of Health (DOH) yesterday released the latest statistics for the enterovirus epidemic and confirmed the second case of the disease in the nation's capital.

From June 1 to June 15, more than 600 people were suspected to be affected by the disease. Fearing spread of the virus, 38 classes throughout the city have been suspended indefinitely.

The second case of enterovirus infection in Taipei City was detected on June 13. The patient, a newborn infant, developed a fever four days after he was born. Medical experts suspected that his mother, who took care of the infant's brother during her pregnancy, …
