More coal exploration deals OK'd by Energy department.

Three more local companies have been contracted by the Energy department to explore and develop coal resources in Southern Luzon, Cebu province and Mindanao.

The Department of Energy (DoE) awarded SKI Construction Group, Inc., formerly Summa Kumagai, Inc., two coal exploration contracts in Barangay Alpako, Naga and Danao City, both in Cebu province.

Rock Energy International Corp., meanwhile, was given leave to explore three blocks with an area of 3,000 hectares in Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte.
