Unions in harmony The Australian and NSW rugby unions reached agreement over a new provincial competition to be played after the Super 14 season. The ARU announced last Friday a tournament featuring all the Australian Super 14 clubs would be played over five weeks in June and July but the NSWRU felt the announcement was premature, suggesting it had been rushed through without proper consultation. But a dispute was avoided after the parties came to an agreement yesterday. The NSWRU's main concerns were how it would affect club rugby, with the state body plumping for an expanded national competition.
