Macintosh users can choose between low cost and state-of-the-art design with Procom Technology Inc.'s new line of CD ROM drives.

At the high end is the macCD/MX, a dual-speed CD ROM drive with a 200-millisecond average access time and a 330K data transfer rate, fast enough to support real-time video on a computer.

The SCSI-2-compatible drive comes with a 256K cache and supports CD ROM XA and Kodak Photo CD formats.

The standard drive is priced at $795. A bundled solution equipped with headphones, speakers, and seven CD ROM discs is priced at $995.

At the low end, the macCD player offers users a standard CD ROM drive with an average access time of 650 …
