SEOUL, May 27 Asia Pulse - LG.Philips LCD Co. (KSE:034220) sold more liquid crystal display (LCD) panels worldwide during the first quarter than Samsung Electronics Co. (KSE:005930), a U.S.-based market researcher said Friday.

LG.Philips, a joint venture between LG Electronics Inc. of South Korea and Royal Philips Electronics NV of the Netherlands, had a 24.3 percent market share during the quarter, compared with Samsung's 21.1 percent, DisplaySearch said in a statement.

Taiwan's AU Optronics Corp. (TAIEX:2409) came in third with a market share of 14.4 percent, followed by its domestic rival Chi Mei Optoelectronics Corp. …
