Civil society organisations have called upon the Federal Government to urgently adopt pro-poor economic policies, which would benefit the poor and excluded masses in the nation; while decrying the latest hike in prices of petroleum products.

The groups, under the umbrella of Nigeria Social Forum (NSF), also urged governments at all levels to institute a political reform process to address issues threatening consolidation of democracy in Nigeria, including reform of electoral process, political parties, campaign financing, and independent ecommissions.
